one 9" pie
  • 1 recipe pie dough
  • 1000g (2¼ pounds) apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 recipe pie dough
  • 1000g (2¼ pounds) apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Toss the apples with the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cut the pie dough in half and roll out one half to about ¼" thick—it should be wide enough to overlap the pie pan by an inch or so.
  4. Place the crust in the pie pan and spread in the apple mixture.
  5. Roll out the other half of the dough and place it over top of the apples. Crimp the edges of the crusts together and cut a few holes in the top crust.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes to an hour until the crust is a golden brown. Wait at least 30 minutes before serving.
